UNA-GB relies heavily on its volunteers and
interns to assist in all aspects of the
programming that takes place throughout the year.
Interns are given a high level of responsibility in
planning events, compiling information, assisting with
educational outreach presentations and editing our
newsletter. |
About UNA-GB Internships
Interns can expect to learn about all aspects of producing and coordinating
programming in a non-profit organization. They will also gain
experience in working in a fast paced environment with
professional staff. All interns are treated in a professional
manner and will learn skills that are applicable in any
professional setting.
The time commitment is from 10-40 hrs/week, with a minimum requirement of 10-15 hours/week.
Priority will be given to interns who are able to spend two or
more semesters at UNA-GB. Due to the non-profit nature of the
organization internships are unpaid.
The background recommended for interns applying for positions with the office is experience
in working, traveling or studying abroad, studying foreign
languages or cultures, model UN experience, working in a
professional setting, making presentations and working with
children. Guidance is provided for all projects undertaken but
interns are expected to have a high level of independence and
an ability to function comfortably in a professional
setting.
