Contains the World Fact book: a comprehensive resource of facts and statistics on more than 250 countries and other entities. Also has a homepage designed especially for kids.

This site includes a directory of thousands of nonprofit websites, an online library for nonprofits and a database of volunteer opportunities nationwide. It also has a resource section designed for kids & teens, and teachers.
National Geographic
Contains very useful resources on various geography and social sciences related topics. Also has guides designed for kids, students, and teachers.
World Bank Education Statistics Database
Makes a variety of national and international data sources (such as UIS and OECD) available in one location, organized by country and regions. It also provides links to a large number of education websites worldwide
Local Resources
African Studies Center at Boston University
Contains information on various upcoming seminars and lectures pertaining to African culture. Also details other area programs and institutions that aim to educate people on the African heritage. Included in the site is the BU African Studies library catalog, which provides not only information on available books but also links to journals and other forms of primary resources.
Massachusetts Council for the Social Studies
Provides a link to several article resources on world events. Also provides a calendar of upcoming sponsored events.
Five College Center for East Asian Studies
Provides the opportunity to borrow any number of their vast Asian resources including DVD/VHS. Books and Journals through an online request system. The site also contains information on joining educational seminars in the area. Also listed are links to other online resources for each Eastern Asian nation.
Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies
Provides access to both monthly online email newsletters and biannual print newsletters; information on a number of teacher workshops; and an opportunity to browse through the library’s videos, books and other lending materials which include slides, PDFs and curriculum kits.
Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies
Includes several publications on Middle Eastern Studies put out by the school including a monthly online journal, a monograph series featuring books and transcripts on a wide range of topics, an academic journal, and proceedings from some of the sponsored conferences in the form of transcript PDFs, outlines, video and audio recordings. The site also provides information on its free curriculum kit along with the numerous public events and workshops held.
