Global Classrooms
uses the empowering experience of Model United Nations to bring
international education into classrooms across the US
and abroad.
The innovative Global
Classrooms curriculum cultivates global
literacy and leadership as students explore important
topics such as peacekeeping, sustainable development and
human rights. |
In Model UN, students step into the
shoes of ambassadors from UN member states to debate current
issues on the organization's vast agenda. Student "delegates"
in Model UN prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy,
negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts,
and navigate the UN's rules of procedure-all in the interest
of mobilizing "international cooperation" to resolve problems
that affect countries all over the world.
Global Classrooms Boston Model UN Conference will be held this year on March 7, 2008 at Northeastern University. Please visit the conference web site for more information and to register. For a complete listing of local Model UN conferences, visit our on-line
Model UN calendar. More information and resources for
Model UN are available at UNA-USA's Model UN Page.
