UN Day, October 24th, marks a special day for the United Nations: the day 50 countries signed the United Nations Charter in 1945. Since that day, the United Nations has helped put peace and security, human rights, education, and sustainable development on the international agenda. Today, the UN has grown to include 191 member states.

UNA-USA sets a different theme for UN Day every year. To learn more about UN Day in Massachusetts and this year's theme, click here. We encourage educators to integrate this theme into their curriculum to commemorate UN Day and raise students' awareness of international women's issues.
