A discussion on the United Nations - past, present and future. What role should the United Nations play in a world of shifting power realities and changing global priorities? How does this 60-year-old organization maintain its relevance in today’s political climate. How can the UN make headway in development, peace and security worldwide? Join us for a conversation on Our United Nations. Janice Hunt, a local board member, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of UNA-USA, has just returned from UNA-USA in New York. She will tell us what's going on at the United Nations, and what people are talking about as they look to the future of the UN. Hosted at the Home of UNA-GB Board Member Janice Hunt in Needham, Massachusetts.

ACCIDENTAL ENCOUNTERS WITH HISTORY
A discussion with UNA-GB Advisory Council Member Lincoln Bloomfield on the United Nations in the context of the US-UN Relationship and world events. His talk will touch on topics from his recently-launched book, “Accidental Encounters with History,” which is full of “candid, witty, and often anecdotal, observations of the national and global political scene.” Lincoln Bloomfield is Professor of Political Science, Emeritus, at MIT, he has served in the State Department and National Security Council, and authored a dozen books.Hosted at the Home of UNA-GB Board Member Alma Morrison in Scituate, Massachusetts.

WORKING FOR AND AGAINST THE UN: PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS
A discussion with UNA-GB Board Member Crocker Snow on the sweet and sour of public-private partnerships at the United Nations. Crocker Snow is the Founder and Director of the Money Matters Institute, and was the first President and Editor in Chief of World Times and World Paper from 1979 to 2001. Through his work, Crocker has a substantial history of working with the UN as a private citizen, including participating in the Copenhagen World Social Summit in 1995, and serving as designated business interlocutor of the UN’s 2002 “Financing for Development” conference. Hosted at the Home of UNA-GB Board Member Gillian Kellogg in Manchester, Massachusetts.
